The EEZZY Group Foundation has donated agricultural equipment to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to aid preparations toward the 42nd National Farmers’ Day.
The package includes one tractor, one pickup, and 20 motorcycles. According to the Foundation, the donation is aimed at boosting productivity and easing logistical challenges for farmers and agricultural extension officers.
The items were presented in Accra ahead of the national celebration, which will take place on December 4, 2026 in Sunyani, Bono Region. The event will be observed under the theme “Our Farmers, Our Food, Our Future.”
The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, who received the donation on behalf of government, described it as timely. He said the equipment will be deployed to support farming communities and improve extension service delivery across the country.
He further noted that private sector support remains critical to achieving the government’s agenda of modernizing agriculture and ensuring food security.
Representatives of the EEZZY Group Foundation said the gesture forms part of their corporate social responsibility to recognize and support the contribution of farmers to Ghana’s economy.
The 2026 National Farmers’ Day will be marked with a five-day agricultural fair, a national farmers’ forum, and an awards durbar. President John Dramani Mahama is expected to grace the occasion.
The Ministry, in collaboration with COCOBOD and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will also present 32 national awards to deserving farmers and stakeholders.
