The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has called on the Ministry of Finance to provide additional data to enable it assess how Ghana’s petroleum revenues were utilized.

PIAC, in its 2026 Semi-Annual Report launched in Accra on Friday, October 24, said the absence of detailed information on the Annual Budget Funding Amount (ABFA) has made it difficult to fully evaluate government spending.
Chairman of PIAC, Mr Richard Ellimah, told journalists that the Committee requested the information in July but is yet to receive it.
According to him, the information is needed to monitor key infrastructure projects being funded with petroleum revenues, particularly the government’s Big Push initiative, which includes the Accra-Kumasi Expressway project.
He said the Ministry’s delay is affecting PIAC’s work and called for strict adherence to the Petroleum Revenue Management Act (PRMA) which mandates institutions to provide information to PIAC.
Mr Ellimah disclosed that PIAC will consult the Attorney-General for advice on how to deal with persistent non-compliance.
The report covers petroleum revenue management for the first half of 2026.
