Mfantsipim school in the Central Region, has launched it’s 150th anniversary celebrations with an unveiling of a memorial logo.
The event marked the beginning of a year long series of activities to honor the schools rich legacy of academic excellence, discipline and leadership.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including government officials alumni, students and staff.
It was also established in 1876 by the Methodist church, Mfantsipim school has produced a good member of illustrations individuals in various fields, including politics, business, academic and sports.
The winner of the logo design contest Hayfield Freeman Teitu, received a cash prize of GHC10000.
Mr Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr, the Ebusuapanyin of Mfantsipim Old boys Association (MOBA), reiterated the schools immense contributions to secondary education for development.
“We are unveiling to show leadership and continue the establishment of the principles that built Ghana and also made Mfantsipim school great in education, Mr Baiden added.
The Chairman of the Mfantsipim Planning Committee, Mr Captain John Yamoah, for his part gave a break down of activities lined up for the anniversary and added that to the anniversary Logo will provide job opportunities for persons in the production of memorabilia and others.
“Our rich heritage, our pursuit of excellence and our commitment to inspiring generations to come, he added.
