The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Rev Dr Kweku Addo, has cut sod for the construction of an 18-unit classroom block at Ebenezer Senior High School, Mpoase.
The sod-cutting ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 10, 2026, at the school premises in Dansoman.
The event attracted the Municipal Chief Executive for Ablekuma West, Hon. George Kpakpo Allotey, traditional authorities, officials of the Ghana Education Service, staff and students of the school, and residents.
The project is being undertaken as part of efforts to address infrastructure challenges at Ebenezer SHS, which has been operating under pressure due to increasing student population.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rev Dr Addo said education remains the foundation for development and the new classroom block will significantly improve teaching and learning conditions in the constituency.
He indicated that the 18-unit block forms part of a broader agenda to expand and upgrade educational facilities in Ablekuma West, in line with government’s commitment to quality education.
Hon. George Kpakpo Allotey, on his part, commended the MP for the initiative and assured the school of the Assembly’s support to ensure timely completion of the project.
Management of Ebenezer SHS expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting that the block will help reduce congestion, improve academic work and provide a more conducive environment for students.
The ceremony ended with the symbolic breaking of the ground by the MP, the MCE, traditional leaders and school authorities to mark the commencement of construction work.
