Galaxy International School has opened the 21st edition of its Annual Science and Makers’ Fair, turning its campus into a showcase of student innovation as the school marks 25 years of operation.

The event is running in partnership with the International Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics Olympiad, giving the fair an international dimension through Galaxy’s membership in the Council of International Schools.

More than 80 projects are on display across science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, with 37 entered for the ISTEAMO competition. Winners are set to receive tablets, cash prizes, and other awards.

School authorities said the fair goes beyond a typical exhibition. “This is where ideas become real-world solutions,” management told attendees. “STEAM subjects aren’t limited to textbooks—they’re the tools our students will use to shape the future.”

The 2026 edition has drawn participants from over 10 schools in Ghana and abroad, with both in-person and virtual entries. Ghanaian schools include Crystal Heights International School, Wesley Girls’ SHS, PRESEC, St. Louis SHS, Accra Academy, and Fatih College Tamale.

International participants feature Nigerian Tulip International Colleges in Abuja, Halabjay Shaheed Communal Girls High School and Stirling Halabja Boys’ College from Kurdistan, Iraq, and Richmond Park College from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

School leadership thanked teachers, parents, judges, and partners for supporting the students. They urged participants to focus on curiosity and problem-solving, saying innovation comes from “having the courage to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and create possibilities where none existed before.”
