Spokesperson for Ing. Kwabena Agyepong, Paul Abdul Rahman Issah Dowuona, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect a clean and unifying figure to lead the party into the 2028 general elections—insisting that Kwabena Agyepong is that leader.
His comments follow Agyepong’s official declaration to contest the party’s presidential primaries, slated for January 2026.
He emphasised that the party must now rally behind a candidate who embodies integrity, unity, and a renewed vision—qualities he believes Kwabena Agyepong represents.
He further argued that the party must avoid backing any candidate with a divisive image or political baggage.
Speaking in an interview with ghanaianannouncer, said the outcome of the last general election as a wake-up call, reflecting growing discontent among NPP supporters and the broader electorate.
According to him, electing Agyepong would set the NPP on a clear path to internal reconciliation and broaden its national appeal ahead of the next election cycle.
“We have been in power for eight years. The last election shows that Ghanaians were not happy with some of the things that happened. They showed us at the polls. Even the results showed that NPP people were not happy, and for that reason, they didn’t come out to vote. We need a person who is a unifier.”
