The 6th Ghana Social Enterprise Forum, held at the British Council in Accra, brought together stakeholders to discuss leveraging technology to drive social innovation and entrepreneurship.

The event emphasized the need for collaboration and policy support to empower young entrepreneurs and transition Ghana’s economy towards technology-driven growth.

Dr. Lartey Amma Sefia-Dedeh, Board Chairperson of Social Enterprise Ghana, stressed the importance of building social networks and partnerships to strengthen the social enterprise ecosystem.
She highlighted the potential of technology and artificial intelligence in shaping global economies, noting that Ghana’s young population presents an opportunity to harness tech for job creation, healthcare, and education.
The forum showcased Social Enterprise Ghana’s youth entrepreneurship programme, which aims to train 80,000 young people to create socially impactful ventures. Speakers encouraged unemployed youth to consider social entrepreneurship as a viable path to self-employment and community transformation.
Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson called for a shift from Ghana’s traditional economy to a modern, tech-driven one, emphasizing the need for policy support to match young innovators’ ambitions.
He noted that access to credit and opportunities remains a major barrier for young people.
The forum featured panel discussions on digital finance, innovation, and technology-driven solutions for social impact, highlighting the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing inclusive and sustainable development in Ghana.
