REGSEC cracks down on Borteyman land dispute

By Mavis Paintsil, Accra

Tensions are high in Borteyman’s Nmai Djor-Trasacco enclave after the Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) declared the area a security zone, suspending all development activities.

Regional Minister Linda Akweley Ocloo announced the decision, citing the need to maintain peace and order amidst ongoing land ownership disputes between traditional authorities and family interests.

The move is part of REGSEC’s broader efforts to ensure public safety in the Adentan West Municipality. Details on the duration of the security zone declaration are unclear.
