The Mamprugu Youth Association has accused the Ghana Police Service of extrajudicially executing Abdul-Aziz Iddrisu, a 33-year-old youth from Mamprugu, sparking widespread outrage in the community.
Aziz was arrested on February 17, 2026, in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region, over the Karimenga barrier attack.
While his siblings were bailed, Aziz was transferred to Accra and allegedly shot dead by police.
The association alleges state-sponsored ethnic cleansing, demanding accountability and justice. “This is a national disgrace,” they said.
They’ve called for an independent investigation, suspension of the IGP, and prosecution of involved officers.
The killing is reportedly part of a pattern of persecution against Mamprusis in the Bawku conflict zone.
Ghanaians are urged to condemn the killing and demand answers from the government and police.
The Ghana Police Service remains silent, fueling further outrage.
