The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr Eric Opoku has called on corporate bodies and institutions to support the upcoming 2025 National Farmers Day Celebration through donations.
He said donations are for the benefit of farmers and assured that all contributions will be transparently distributed.
We also encourage other companies to come on board, as agriculture is the foundation upon which all human activity depends,” he added.
He revealed that preparations are underway for the official launch of the Farmers Day programme, pending confirmation of the venue by the President, H.E John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking during the donation ceremony, General Manager of Ndede Company Limited, Nana Ehoa Acquaye highlighted the vital role farmers play in Ghana’s economy, describing them as “special people” who ensure food security for the nation.Â
She announced the presentation of 150 pairs of Wellington boots to support farmers’ safety and productivity, emphasizing it as a gesture of appreciation, not done for returns.
Madam Acquaye explained that Ndede Company, which has been in operation for 30 years, initially imported safety gear but began local manufacturing in 2024 with the donated boots being part of their new line of locally produced agricultural footwear, tailored for farming and gardening.
She said the company also produces safety boots for mining and construction, including steel-toe and steel-plate options.
